APC Back-UPS 2200VA Tower 230V 6x IEC C13 AVR
The APC Back-UPS 2200VA Tower 230V with 6x IEC C13 outlets provides uninterrupted power backup and surge protection for home and small office equipment. With a capacity of 2.2 kVA and a continuous output rating of 1200 W, this tower UPS combines line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct voltage sags and spikes without switching to battery. Its compact tower design fits next to workstations, network racks, or entertainment centers and protects sensitive electronics from brief power disturbances and longer outages.
This UPS delivers both battery backup and surge suppression across six IEC C13 outlets, with four outlets providing battery support and surge protection and two designated for surge protection only. The unit uses sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries for reliable backup and a sine waveform output suitable for a wide range of equipment. AVR reduces the need for battery use by stabilizing input voltage, and a surge energy rating of 273 Joules provides an additional layer of protection against transient events. The compact black tower housing is designed for unobtrusive placement in home and office environments.
Place the UPS on a stable, ventilated surface near the equipment you intend to protect and connect the unit to a grounded 230 V AC mains outlet. Attach critical devices to the battery-backed IEC C13 outlets and non-critical equipment to the surge-only outlets. Turn on the UPS and monitor the status indicators to confirm normal operation. For planned shutdowns, allow connected equipment to be turned off normally or use an appropriate UPS management application where available. Replace the internal battery per the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations to ensure continued backup capability.
To optimize service life and performance, maintain ambient temperature within the manufacturer’s recommended range, avoid covering ventilation openings, and perform periodic battery self-tests. Do not expose the unit to moisture or excessive dust. For critical installations, verify runtime requirements and plan battery replacement intervals to match load and desired backup time.
