Manage your Smart-UPS with the APC ap9640 network card. This network management card connects to an APC Smart-UPS equipped with a SmartSlot, allowing remote monitoring and management over the network using SNMP, EcoStruxure™ IT or a web browser. Combined with PowerChute Network Shutdown software, the card enables the UPS to send shutdown signals to multiple physical and virtual servers to protect workloads during power events.

How to use

Install the ap9640 card into the SmartSlot of a compatible APC Smart-UPS and connect it to the network. Access the card via a web browser, EcoStruxure™ IT or an SNMP management system to view status, configure alerts and set shutdown policies. Install PowerChute Network Shutdown on servers that require orderly shutdown; for hyperconverged infrastructure and virtual machine support, apply the required additional license (1, 3 or 5 year options).

Recommendations

For full remote monitoring and incident response, consider adding the EcoStruxure Asset Advisor service and the network card support contract. Use the remote outlet switching feature to reset unresponsive equipment before dispatching personnel.
