APC Back-UPS BX750MI 750VA 4x C13 USB Line-Interactive UPS
The APC Back-UPS BX750MI 750VA 4x C13 USB Line-Interactive UPS is a compact uninterruptible power supply designed to protect home and small-office electronics. With 0.75 kVA (750 VA) capacity and 410 W output power, it provides battery backup and surge protection through four C13 outlets and includes a USB port for device communication and controlled shutdowns. The unit uses a sealed lead‑acid battery and supports Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to stabilize low and high mains voltages without using battery power, extending runtime and battery life.
The UPS combines battery backup and surge protection in one compact, fanless design, offering quiet operation and simple installation. Integrated AVR corrects voltage fluctuations to reduce unnecessary battery discharge. A USB connection enables orderly shutdown of a connected PC or NAS when mains power is lost. The device also provides dataline surge protection for an Ethernet line and visual and audible indicators for system status. The replaceable internal battery cartridge allows cost‑effective life extension.
Position the UPS on a stable, ventilated surface away from direct heat and moisture. Connect critical equipment such as a PC, NAS or networking devices to the battery‑protected outlets and noncritical peripherals to the surge‑only outlets. Attach the UPS to a computer using the supplied USB cable and install the PowerChute software where controlled shutdown or event logging is required. The UPS operates automatically: when mains voltage is acceptable, it conditions power using AVR and keeps the internal battery charged; when mains fails, it switches to battery power to maintain connected loads and can trigger an automatic shutdown via the USB connection.
For reliable protection, prioritize essential devices on battery‑protected outlets and schedule periodic battery self‑tests. Replace the internal battery cartridge when the self‑test or battery failure notification indicates degradation. Keep firmware and PowerChute software up to date on supported systems to ensure orderly shutdowns and accurate runtime reporting.
