The APC Smart-UPS SMT3000RMI2UC is a 3000 VA line-interactive UPS designed for rackmount installations. It supplies up to 2700 W through nine outlets (eight C13 and one C19) and uses a sealed lead-acid battery with a 547 VAh capacity. The UPS provides automatic emergency power when mains power fails, offers remote and local monitoring options, and supports controlled shutdown of connected equipment to prevent data loss and hardware damage.

Advantages

The SMT3000RMI2UC delivers uninterrupted power to connected devices immediately after a power outage and protects against voltage peaks. Remote monitoring is available out of the box via SmartConnect (six-month trial) and via an optional Network Management Card for SNMP and EcoStruxure IT Expert integration. The unit features an LCD and physical controls for local management, a user-replaceable internal battery cartridge (RBC43) to extend service life, and a 4-post rail kit for easy rack mounting. Switched Outlet Groups allow phased start-up and remote reboot of connected equipment.

How to use

Install the SMT3000RMI2UC in a standard 19-inch rack using the included 4-post rail kit. Connect critical equipment to the UPS outlets and, if required, connect one server via USB for PowerChute-controlled shutdown. For network monitoring and remote management, connect the SmartConnect ethernet port or install the optional APC Network Management Card and configure EcoStruxure IT Expert or PowerChute Network Shutdown as needed. Replace the internal RBC43 battery cartridge when indicated by the UPS status; this can be done by the user without powering down connected equipment.

Usage recommendations

Use SmartConnect or the Network Management Card together with EcoStruxure IT Expert or PowerChute software to implement controlled shutdown sequences and to enable remote monitoring. Configure Switched Outlet Groups to stagger device start-up and reduce inrush current at power restoration. Follow manufacturer's guidelines for battery replacement and verify compatibility of connected devices with the UPS output capacity.
