UPS APC Smart-UPS On-Line 8kVA/8kW Tower
The APC Smart-UPS On-Line 8kVA/8kW Tower (SRT8KXLI) is a double-conversion on-line UPS designed for IT professionals and network administrators to maintain business uptime and continuity. It provides pure sine wave output and extended runtime to support critical electronics during power disruptions. The unit includes an embedded Network Management Card and PowerChute Network Shutdown for coordinated shutdown of physical servers, virtual machines and HCI clusters. It supports hard-wired input (3-wire 1P+N+E or 5-wire 3P+N+E), offers 10 AC outlets (6x IEC 320 C13 and 4x IEC 320 C19) and ships with three IEC jumper cables. The UPS is compatible with EcoStruxure IT and other centralized management platforms and has a SmartSlot for optional accessory cards. The product carries a 3-year unit warranty and a 2-year warranty for the built-in sealed lead-acid battery.
The on-line double-conversion topology supplies continuous, pure sine wave power that isolates connected equipment from mains disturbances. Embedded network management and PowerChute software enable remote monitoring, automated shutdown and integration with centralized management solutions. A variety of outlet types (C13 and C19) and supplied jumper cables facilitate connection of servers and network equipment. The SmartSlot allows adding optional I/O or dry-contact cards for site-specific integration. Compliance with certifications such as RoHS and CE and an LCD display make the UPS suitable for professional IT environments.
Install the UPS according to site electrical codes and the manufacturer’s installation guide. Connect mains power using the appropriate hard-wire configuration (1P+N+E or 3P+N+E) and attach equipment to the IEC C13 and C19 outlets using the supplied jumper cables or standard IEC cords. Use the LCD for local status and configuration, and install the embedded Network Management Card into your network for remote monitoring. Configure PowerChute Network Shutdown on servers and virtual machines to ensure orderly shutdown during extended outages. If required, install optional SmartSlot accessory cards for dry-contact integration or other functions.
Place the UPS in a well-ventilated, temperature-controlled environment and follow battery maintenance intervals specified by APC. Plan cabling and rack or tower placement before installation; SRTRK2 (4-post) and SRTRK3 (2-post) rail kits are available separately for rack mounting. Test the shutdown sequence with PowerChute in a controlled maintenance window before relying on it in production.
