How to use

Enter your 7–16 digit PIN on the onboard keypad to unlock the drive before plugging it into the computer or device USB port. For deployments, an administrator can set an Admin PIN and configure the drive using Aegis Configurator profiles; drives can be shipped in a User Forced Enrollment state so each end user must create their own PIN on first use. If the User PIN is forgotten, the Admin PIN or programmed one-time recovery PINs can grant access or force a re-enrollment. To erase and reuse the drive, perform the drive reset to clear pins, destroy existing data and generate a new encryption key.

Usage recommendations

Store the Admin PIN and any recovery PINs separately from the physical device. For deployments, use the Aegis Configurator and powered hub to mass-provision uniform security profiles. Regularly verify firmware/validation documentation for compliance and handle the device carefully despite its rugged housing to avoid physical damage that could affect data recovery.
