Temperature sensor Apte AG509 DS18B20 for Raspberry Pi, 1 m cable, universal
Apte AG509 is a digital temperature sensor module based on the DS18B20 chip, supplied with a 1 m cable and universal wiring for direct connection to Raspberry Pi single-wire (1-Wire) interfaces. The compact module delivers digital temperature readings without the need for external ADCs, providing easy integration into DIY electronics, home automation controllers and environmental monitoring setups where reliable, accurate temperature data is required.
The sensor provides precise digital temperature measurement using the DS18B20 protocol, eliminating analog signal conversion and reducing wiring complexity. The 1 m cable gives flexibility for sensor placement inside enclosures or in-room installations, while universal wiring ensures compatibility with common Raspberry Pi GPIO pinouts and 1-Wire libraries. The module’s small form factor and digital output simplify mounting, software integration and multi-sensor networks.
Connect the module’s wires to the Raspberry Pi GPIO following the DS18B20 1-Wire wiring convention: data to the designated GPIO pin, power to 3.3 V and ground to a common ground. Enable the 1-Wire interface in the Raspberry Pi configuration or via the device tree overlay, then use standard system drivers or libraries (for example w1-gpio/w1-therm in Linux) to detect the sensor and read temperature values. Multiple DS18B20 sensors can share the same data line when properly powered and addressed.
For stable readings, avoid exposing the module or cable to direct moisture unless the sensor is additionally sealed; keep connections secure and use pull-up resistor on the data line as recommended for 1-Wire setups. Use 3.3 V supply on Raspberry Pi to prevent logic level issues and follow best practices for cable routing to minimize electrical interference when placing the sensor in proximity to motors or high-current wiring.
