Aquarium Gravel AQUA DELLA Gravel Light Coarse dark 3–6 mm 10 kg
Aquarium Gravel AQUA DELLA Gravel Light Coarse dark 3–6 mm 10 kg
AQUA DELLA Gravel Light Coarse dark 3–6 mm 10 kg is a dark-coloured aquarium substrate composed of medium-coarse gravel with a grain size of 3–6 mm, supplied in a 10 kg bag. Designed for use in freshwater aquariums, terrariums and aquascaping projects, this gravel creates a stable base for plants and decorative elements while contributing to the aquarium's visual depth. Its grain size provides good water circulation within the substrate and supports the development of beneficial bacteria that participate in biological filtration.
The gravel combines a uniform grain size of 3–6 mm with a darker tone that enhances contrast with plants and fish. Its medium-coarse texture reduces compaction compared with very fine substrates while still allowing root penetration for many plant species. Supplied in a 10 kg package, it is suitable for creating an even substrate layer across small to medium aquariums. The material is suitable for freshwater setups and terrariums and is stable under water, helping to retain decor and plantings in place.
Rinse the gravel thoroughly with clean water until the runoff is clear to remove dust and fines. Spread an even layer of gravel across the aquarium bottom; a depth of 3–5 cm is typical for community tanks, while planted aquariums may benefit from a slightly deeper layer depending on plant root requirements. Arrange decorations and plants; compacting should be minimal to preserve water flow through the substrate. When performing maintenance, use a gravel vacuum close to the surface to remove debris without excessively disturbing beneficial bacteria deeper in the bed.
Do not use this gravel in marine or brackish systems unless specifically tested for saltwater compatibility. For planted tanks, consider combining with nutrient-rich substrate layers or root tabs where plants require additional fertilisation. Store unopened bags in a dry place and avoid mixing with chemically treated substrates unless compatibility is confirmed.
