AQUA DELLA gravel light fine aquarium substrate 1–2 mm, 2 kg
AQUA DELLA gravel light fine aquarium substrate 1–2 mm, 2 kg is a neutral, fine-grained gravel designed for freshwater aquariums. With a grain size of 1–2 mm and a packed weight of 2 kg, this substrate provides a stable base for plant roots, decorative elements and beneficial biological activity. Its light, neutral color integrates with a variety of aquascape styles while allowing water flow through the bed to support filtration and root aeration.
This fine light gravel offers consistent grain size for even planting and reliable anchoring of roots. Its neutral composition does not affect water parameters, making it suitable for a wide range of freshwater setups. The small grain size promotes contact between roots and substrate while allowing biological filtration processes to develop. Packaged in a 2 kg amount, it is convenient for small tanks, partial substrate renewals or accent areas in larger aquaria.
Rinse the gravel thoroughly with clean water until the rinse water runs clear to remove dust and loose particles. Spread an even layer of substrate on the aquarium bottom; typical depth for planted tanks is 2–5 cm depending on plant species and whether additional root substrate layers are used. Place plants, decorations and hardscape elements on top and finish filling the aquarium with water poured gently to avoid disturbing the substrate. Monitor initial turbidity and perform water changes as needed until clarity is restored.
Combine this fine light gravel with nutrient-rich root tabs or a thin layer of specialized plant substrate below if intensive rooting plants or heavy growth is intended. For best results in planted aquariums, pair the substrate with appropriate lighting and fertilization routines and avoid frequent deep cleaning that disturbs the root zone.
