Aquarium Gravel AQUA DELLA Gravel Carrara White 12–16 mm, 2 kg
AQUA DELLA Gravel Carrara White 12–16 mm, 2 kg is natural white aquarium gravel designed for freshwater and marine tanks. The 12–16 mm grain size creates a medium-coarse substrate layer that is visually similar to Carrara marble fragments. This inert gravel does not alter water chemistry and can be used as a decorative substrate, for anchoring larger aquatic plants, or to support biological filtration in display tanks, aquascapes and terrariums.
The white Carrara-style gravel offers a neutral, light-reflective base that enhances color contrast of fish and plants without releasing minerals or affecting pH. Its medium-coarse grain size improves water circulation at the substrate level and reduces compaction compared with finer sands. Packaged as 2 kg, it is convenient for small to medium aquaria and for partial substrate replacement or accent areas in larger setups.
Rinse the gravel thoroughly under running water until the rinse water runs clear to remove dust and fines. Spread an even layer across the aquarium bottom; recommended depth depends on application but typically 2–4 cm for decorative coverings and 4–6 cm where plant anchoring or bacterial colonization is required. Combine with nutrient-rich substrate layers beneath if cultivating rooted plants; for marine tanks, ensure compatibility with live sand or reef substrates if used in mixed layers.
For best results, rinse before use and add gravel gradually while observing water clarity. Use in combination with appropriate filtration and maintenance routines. Avoid sudden large substrate changes in established aquaria to reduce stress on inhabitants. For planted aquariums, consider a dedicated plant substrate below this gravel to supply nutrients to roots.
