How to use

Rinse the gravel thoroughly in cold water until the runoff is clear to remove dust and fine particles before adding it to the aquarium. Spread the gravel evenly to the desired depth, typically 2–5 cm for general decoration and up to 6–8 cm in planted tanks where deeper substrate assists root development. Place heavier decorative items on top after setting the substrate. When planting, create small hollows and position roots gently into the gravel, avoiding compacting the substrate tightly over plant crowns.

Usage recommendations

For planted tanks, consider adding a nutrient-rich soil or root tabs below or within the gravel layer to ensure plants receive sufficient nutrients, since dolomite provides mineral buffering but not comprehensive plant nutrition. Monitor water parameters after installation, especially carbonate hardness, and perform regular vacuuming of the surface during maintenance to remove accumulated detritus without disturbing plant roots.
