How to use

Rinse the required amount of quartz bacteria balls under tap water until runoff is clear to remove dust from packaging. Place the media inside the filter chamber or canister so that water flows evenly through the bed of beads; avoid packing so tightly that water flow is restricted. For wet/dry systems, position the beads where maximum air–water contact occurs to support aerobic bacterial activity. Monitor biological performance via ammonia and nitrite tests and adjust media volume if necessary to meet the bio-load of your aquarium or pond.

Usage recommendations

For initial colonization, consider adding seeded media from an established filter to accelerate bacterial growth.
