Arctic Silver AS5 is a premium thermal compound formulated with a high-density mix of micronized silver and thermally conductive ceramic particles to improve heat transfer between modern CPUs or GPUs and heatsinks or water-cooling blocks. The 3.5 g syringe contains a compound engineered for a broad range of bond-line thicknesses and long-term stability with a rated thermal conductivity of 9 W/m·K and an operating temperature range of -50 to 130 °C.

Advantages

Arctic Silver AS5 uses 99.9% pure silver particles in three unique shapes and sizes to increase particle-to-particle contact and thermal transfer. The formula contains over 88% thermally conductive filler by weight, including sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride ceramic particles that enhance thermal performance and long-term stability. The proprietary, silicone-free suspension provides controlled triple-phase viscosity: easy application from the syringe, initial thinning to fill microscopic surface valleys, then slight thickening over 50–200 hours to a stable consistency. The compound is designed to be non-electrically conductive while remaining very slightly capacitive, and it resists separation, running, migration, or bleeding. The product is RoHS compliant.

How to use

Clean both mating surfaces (CPU/GPU heat spreader and heatsink base or water block) thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Apply a small, pea-sized amount of Arctic Silver AS5 to the centre of the CPU or GPU heat spreader. Mount the heatsink or water block and secure it according to the manufacturer's mounting procedure so the compound spreads evenly across the interface. Allow the system to run through initial operating cycles; the compound will thin to fill microgaps and then reach its final consistency over approximately 50–200 hours of use.

Usage recommendations

Keep Arctic Silver AS5 away from exposed electrical contacts, pins, or traces. Although not electrically conductive, the compound is slightly capacitive and should not bridge adjacent electrical paths. Store the syringe capped in a cool, dry place. Use only the amount necessary for a proper bond line; excess compound should be removed to avoid potential contact with nearby components.
