NAS Asustor Lockerstor 4RS Rack 1U Intel Atom C3538 8GB DDR4
The Asustor Lockerstor 4RS Rack 1U with Intel Atom C3538 and 8GB DDR4 is a rack-mounted network attached storage (NAS) appliance designed for small and medium business environments. This 1U chassis accepts up to four drives (HDD or SSD) and supports RAID configurations to provide redundant storage. Powered by a quad-core Intel Atom C3538 processor at 2.1 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory, the device runs the ADM operating system, offering file services, network connectivity, and centralized data management in a compact black rack form factor.
The Lockerstor 4RS combines a low-profile 1U rack design with enterprise-style features such as RAID support and multiple drive compatibility, enabling efficient use of rack space and simplified storage expansion. The Intel Atom C3538 processor and 8 GB of RAM provide steady performance for file serving, backups, and light virtualization or container tasks. ADM offers a consistent management interface and a range of network services, while the device’s support for both HDD and SSD allows users to balance capacity and performance according to needs.
Install the Lockerstor 4RS into a compatible 19-inch rack using the included rack-mount brackets and secure it per rack manufacturer guidelines. Populate the drive bays with supported 3.5" or 2.5" HDDs/SSDs as required, and configure RAID arrays through the ADM web interface during initial setup. Connect the device to your network using the Ethernet ports, power it on, and follow the ADM setup wizard to create shared folders, user accounts, and backup tasks. Use ADM’s application center to enable additional services such as virtualization, media server, and snapshot scheduling.
For reliable operation in business environments, deploy enterprise-class HDDs or high-endurance SSDs, maintain regular backups, and configure an appropriate RAID level for the desired balance of performance and redundancy. Ensure the rack location provides adequate ventilation and monitor system health via ADM to schedule firmware updates and storage maintenance.
