The Atomos Shogun Ultra Black is a 7" monitor-recorder designed for HDMI mirrorless and 12G-SDI cinematic cameras. It supports up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 60 fps capture, provides a 1920 x 1200 7-inch 2000-nit SuperAtom IPS touchscreen for HDR monitoring, and offers multiple connectivity and power options including Wi‑Fi 6E, Gigabit Ethernet, AirGlu RF/Bluetooth, NP battery slot and a 2.1 mm locking DC input. The unit enables RAW capture, dual-record workflows, and both local and cloud-based production through Atomos Cloud integrations.

How to use

Mount the Shogun Ultra to your camera rig using the included 1/4–20 adapter or 3/8–16 mount points, connect HDMI or SDI from your camera and select the desired recording codec and resolution in AtomOS 11. For RAW workflows, attach a compatible RAW camera and follow the activation process at my.atomos.com to enable ProRes RAW. Use SegmentPro to set file-size or time-based segments for long recordings and enable dual-record if you want simultaneous high-quality and proxy files. For cloud workflows, enable Wi‑Fi/Ethernet, sign in to Atomos Cloud Studio (ACS) and start camera-to-cloud uploads as required.

Usage recommendations

Use H.265 proxies for fast camera-to-cloud uploads and social publishing while preserving a ProRes RAW master for post-production. Ensure firmware and codec activations are completed via my.atomos.com prior to shooting, and prefer wired GigE or Wi‑Fi 6E for stable cloud transfers in bandwidth-sensitive environments.
