The Atomos AtomX CAST is a compact configuration and multi-camera switching device that connects up to four full HD HDMI sources and, when docked with a Ninja V or Ninja V+, appears to your computer as a high-quality USB-C webcam. Housed in a durable black plastic chassis and powered by DC, the unit is designed for portable use and integrates the Ninja’s 5” touchscreen monitor for setup, monitoring and simple control of overlays and multiview.

How to use

Dock a Ninja V or Ninja V+ into the AtomX CAST, connect up to four HDMI video sources and attach the unit to a computer via USB-C. Use the Ninja touchscreen to configure multiview, overlays, picture-in-picture and audio monitoring. For streaming or conferencing, select the AtomX CAST as the webcam/video source in applications such as Zoom, Teams or OBS. Optionally use the Ninja HDMI output for a program feed or larger monitoring display while the CAST handles switching and graphics.

Usage recommendations

For best results, use cameras with clean HDMI output and set consistent exposure and color settings across sources. Position the Ninja’s touchscreen for easy access to monitor-assist tools and add external capture or recording on the Ninja for archive-quality ProRes or DNx recordings. Ensure reliable DC power and stable USB-C connection when streaming or presenting live.
