Audac NIO222 Dante Network Audio Expander, 2x Mic/Line Inputs and 2x Balanced Line Outputs

The Audac NIO222 is a professional Dante network audio expander engineered to provide seamless integration of analog audio signals into digital Dante networks. This compact and robust device serves as an interface for distributed audio systems, allowing for high-quality signal transmission over standard Ethernet infrastructure. With its dual-channel input and output configuration, it ensures reliable connectivity for professional audio environments requiring low-latency performance and digital signal routing flexibility.

Advantages

The primary benefit of the Audac NIO222 lies in its ability to bridge traditional analog equipment with modern IP-based audio networks. By utilizing the Dante protocol, it eliminates the need for long, complex analog cable runs, significantly reducing potential signal degradation and interference. The inclusion of switchable phantom power on the inputs provides versatility for various microphone types, while the balanced outputs ensure clean, noise-free signal delivery to amplifiers or active speakers. Its compact form factor allows for discreet installation in equipment racks or behind displays, making it an unobtrusive yet powerful component in any professional sound system.

Suitable for

• Conference rooms and meeting spaces
• Distributed audio systems in commercial buildings
• Professional sound reinforcement installations
• Integration of analog microphones into digital networks
• Educational facilities and lecture halls

This device may not be suitable for applications requiring a high number of simultaneous audio channels, as it is limited to two inputs and two outputs. It is also not intended for standalone audio processing or mixing, as it functions strictly as a network interface and signal expander.

Key specifications

• Two microphone/line inputs with phantom power
• Two balanced line outputs
• Dante network connectivity via Ethernet
• Compact, rack-mountable or surface-mountable design
• Low-latency digital audio transmission

To use the Audac NIO222, connect the device to your local area network using a standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. Once connected, the device will be discoverable within the Dante Controller software, where you can route the audio signals to any other Dante-enabled device on the network. Ensure that the input gain and phantom power settings are correctly configured for your specific microphones or line-level sources using the appropriate control interface.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your network infrastructure supports Dante audio protocols
• Verify that you have sufficient PoE or external power supply options
• Confirm the number of inputs and outputs meets your project requirements
• Check compatibility with existing Dante-enabled hardware

Usage recommendations: For optimal performance, always use shielded Cat6 cabling in environments with high electromagnetic interference. Ensure that your network switch is configured for Dante traffic, specifically enabling Quality of Service (QoS) settings to prioritize audio data packets for stable, drop-out-free operation.
