Microphone AUDAC PDM200
The AUDAC PDM200 is a professional wired dynamic paging gooseneck microphone designed for public address and announcement systems. It features a -70 dB sensitivity, a frequency response of 80–12,000 Hz and a 600 Ω input impedance for reliable voice reproduction. The microphone is supplied in black, mounted on a stable base with a three-position switch (Permanent ON / Momentary ON / OFF) and includes an integrated RC network and switch contact to trigger chime modules and compatible public address amplifiers. A 1.5 m cable with a 3-pin XLR connector and wiring for chime contacts is attached.
The PDM200 provides stable hands-free operation from its solid base and an adjustable gooseneck that positions the capsule for optimal speech capture. Its three-function switch and built-in RC network enable straightforward integration with AUDAC chime modules and many PA amplifiers for automatic or manual signalling. Wired connectivity and a 600 Ω input impedance ensure consistent performance in environments where low-latency, uninterrupted announcements are required.
Place the PDM200 on a stable, level surface near the operator or announcement point and adjust the gooseneck so the capsule is positioned approximately 15–30 cm from the speaker’s mouth. Connect the 3-pin XLR to the microphone input of your PA amplifier or console and connect the chime contact wires if you intend to control an external chime module. Select the desired switch mode: Permanent ON for continuous open-mic use, Momentary ON for push-to-talk announcements, or OFF to disable the microphone. Test the level and tone from the sound system and adjust gain on the amplifier or mixer to achieve clear, undistorted speech.
For optimal speech intelligibility, position the gooseneck so the capsule points slightly off-axis from the mouth to reduce plosive sounds. Use the Momentary ON mode for controlled paging to avoid accidental open-mic situations, and connect the integrated chime contact to an AUDAC COM12/24 or compatible chime module if timed signalling is required. Avoid exposing the microphone to moisture and strong airflow; regular checks of the cable and connector will help maintain reliable operation.
