Description

The Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB Silver is a manual belt-drive turntable designed for playing 33-1/3, 45 and 78 RPM records and for digitizing vinyl via its USB output. It includes a detachable dual RCA cable and a built-in selectable phono preamplifier so it can connect to systems with or without a dedicated phono input. The player is equipped with an S-shaped tonearm, an AT-HS6 universal ½"-mount headshell and an AT-VM95E Dual Magnet phono cartridge with an elliptical stylus, plus a die-cast aluminium platter with felt mat and a removable hinged dust cover.

Advantages

A selectable high-accuracy quartz-controlled pitch lock, pitch change slider with +/-8% or +/-16% ranges and a stroboscopic platter speed indicator give precise speed control. The included USB output allows direct connection to a computer for recording to digital audio files using Mac- and PC-compatible software, while the detachable RCA cable and built-in phono preamp provide straightforward integration with home stereo systems.

How to use

Place the turntable on a stable, level surface and connect either the detachable RCA cable to your amplifier/receiver or the USB cable to your computer. If connecting to a system without a phono input, set the built-in preamp to the line position; set to phono when using a dedicated phono input. Fit a record on the platter, select the correct speed (33-1/3, 45 or 78 RPM), lift the tonearm using the cueing lever, position the stylus above the outer groove and lower the arm gently. Adjust tracking force and anti-skate according to the cartridge manufacturer’s recommendations. To digitize vinyl, connect the USB output, open your recording software (for example Audacity), set input levels and record.

Usage recommendations

Use the removable dust cover when the turntable is not in use to protect the platter and cartridge. Replace the stylus as recommended by the cartridge manufacturer and calibrate tracking force and anti-skate for best sound and minimal record wear.
