Handlebar Bar End AUTHOR ABE-500 Pro GripLock black — ergonomic bicycle bar ends

AUTHOR ABE-500 Pro GripLock black ergonomic bar ends are handlebar extensions that provide alternative hand positions and increased comfort for cycling commuters and touring riders. The bar ends attach to standard handlebars using the Pro GripLock clamping system to deliver a stable and secure connection while allowing easy repositioning of the hands during longer rides.

Advantages

The ergonomic shape of the ABE-500 supports natural wrist alignment and reduces pressure on palms during extended use. The Pro GripLock clamping mechanism ensures a firm hold on the handlebar, minimising rotation and slippage under load. The black finish is corrosion-resistant and blends with most handlebar styles, while the compact profile maintains overall bike handling and control.

Suitable for

• Commuting in urban and mixed-traffic environments
• Touring and long-distance rides where hand position variety is beneficial
• Riders seeking ergonomic support to reduce wrist and palm fatigue
• Retrofit of standard flat or riser handlebars to add alternative grips

Key specifications

• Mounting type: Pro GripLock clamp system for secure attachment
• Shape: Ergonomic contour to support natural wrist position
• Colour: Black finish with corrosion-resistant coating
• Material: Durable composite and metal clamp components for strength and reduced weight
• Compatibility: Designed for standard bicycle handlebars with compatible outer diameter

How to use

Position the bar end on the handlebar at the desired angle and distance from the grip, making sure the clamp fully contacts the handlebar surface. Tighten the Pro GripLock clamp to the recommended torque using a compatible tool, ensuring the bar end is secure and does not rotate under moderate force. Adjust the angle and re-tighten as needed to find the most comfortable hand position. Verify tightness periodically, especially after initial rides.

Usage recommendations

Before the first ride, check clamp tightness and compatibility with your handlebar diameter. Avoid overtightening the clamp to prevent damage to the handlebar surface. Inspect the bar ends regularly for wear, secure fit, and any signs of corrosion or loosening; retighten or service as required.
