AWTools Pneumatic Foam Wheel 400mm with Metal Rim, Bearing and Axle

The AWTools 400mm pneumatic foam wheel is a robust and reliable component designed for heavy-duty wheelbarrows. Engineered to withstand demanding environments, this wheel features a specialized foam-filled tire that eliminates the risk of punctures, ensuring uninterrupted work on construction sites or in the garden. The assembly includes a high-strength metal rim for structural integrity and integrated bearings that facilitate smooth, effortless rotation under load. With the included axle, the wheel is ready for quick and straightforward installation, making it an essential upgrade for maintaining equipment performance.

Advantages

The primary benefit of this foam wheel is its puncture-proof design, which removes the need for constant pressure monitoring or repairs associated with traditional air-filled tires. The combination of a durable foam core and a reinforced metal rim provides excellent load-bearing capacity and stability on uneven terrain. Furthermore, the inclusion of high-quality bearings ensures that the wheel rolls smoothly, reducing the physical effort required to transport heavy materials. The complete set, including the axle, simplifies the replacement process, allowing for immediate equipment restoration.

Suitable for

• Construction sites for transporting bricks, sand, and cement
• Gardening tasks such as moving soil, mulch, and plants
• Landscaping projects involving heavy stone or debris
• General utility wheelbarrows in residential or commercial settings

When it may not be suitable

This wheel may not be ideal for applications requiring high-speed transport or extreme precision steering, as it is specifically engineered for manual wheelbarrow use. Additionally, it might not be suitable for surfaces where extreme vibration dampening is required, as foam-filled tires are generally firmer than standard pneumatic tires.

Key specifications

• Wheel diameter: 400 mm
• Tire type: Puncture-proof foam-filled
• Rim material: Durable metal
• Bearing type: Integrated smooth-rotation bearings
• Included components: Wheel, metal rim, bearings, and axle

How to use

To install the wheel, first ensure the wheelbarrow frame is stable and elevated. Remove the old wheel assembly by loosening the existing axle fasteners. Align the new AWTools wheel with the frame mounting points, ensuring the bearings are properly seated. Insert the provided axle through the frame and the wheel hub, securing it firmly with the appropriate hardware. Before loading the wheelbarrow, verify that the wheel rotates freely and that all connections are tightened to prevent wobbling during operation.

What to consider before purchase

• Check the axle diameter compatibility with your existing wheelbarrow frame
• Verify the required wheel diameter of 400 mm for your specific model
• Ensure the load capacity meets your intended usage requirements

Usage recommendations

Regularly inspect the axle and bearings for debris accumulation to maintain smooth rotation. Although the tire is puncture-proof, avoid exposing the foam material to extreme heat or harsh chemicals that could degrade the structural integrity over time.
