AWTools AW19103 vehicle care accessory, pack of 2, weight 1.9 kg
AWTools AW19103 vehicle care accessory is supplied as a pack of two units with a combined weight of 1.9 kg. Made of steel with forged and hardened jaws and a blackened surface, this toolset is engineered for working with coil springs on McPherson struts. The jaws are shaped to safely wrap the coil, and a fine thread enables accurate adjustment in confined spaces such as under the wheel arch. The design allows use with a 21 mm wrench or 1/2" square drive tools, making the set suitable for both garage and home workshop environments.
The forged and hardened steel jaws provide durable clamping and resist deformation during repeated use, while the blackened surface improves corrosion resistance. The fine-pitch thread enables precise compression and release of springs, reducing the risk of sudden movement. A compact profile and jaw geometry are optimized for access in limited space beneath the wheel arch, and compatibility with common drive tools offers flexibility for professional and DIY applications.
Position the jaws around the coil spring so the jaw profile fully contacts the spring windings. Tighten the fine thread evenly to compress the spring, using a 21 mm wrench or a compatible 1/2" drive tool. Ensure both sides are compressed at the same rate to keep the spring aligned. After completing removal or installation of the strut assembly, slowly and evenly release the thread to decompress the spring before removing the tool.
Inspect the jaws and threads before each use for wear or damage. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow vehicle manufacturer procedures when working with suspension springs. Do not use the tool if any component is bent, cracked, or excessively worn.
