Tarpaulin AWTools AW68018, weight 8.08 kg, heavy-duty cover
AWTools AW68018 tarpaulin is a heavy-duty cover weighing 8.08 kg, made from HDPE cross-woven fabric and laminated on both sides with LDPE. The tarp is designed to provide reliable weather protection and temporary shielding for goods, equipment and vehicles during transport, storage and outdoor use. Edges are heat-sealed, fitted with eyelets every 1 metre and have a sewn-in rope reinforcement to increase tear resistance and hold up in windy conditions. The material is waterproof, UV resistant and mould-resistant, and the surface is easy to wash for maintenance.
The construction of the AWTools AW68018 combines cross-woven HDPE strength with LDPE lamination for enhanced water tightness and dimensional stability. Heat-sealed edges with eyelets and rope reinforcement reduce the risk of rips and allow secure fastening. UV resistance prolongs the service life in sunlight-exposed applications while mould resistance helps in humid environments. At 8.08 kg the tarp is substantial enough for heavy-duty use yet manageable for covering vehicles, machinery or building materials.
Position the tarpaulin over the object to be protected, ensuring full coverage of exposed areas. Use the metal eyelets and the sewn rope reinforcement to secure the tarp with ropes, straps or bungees to anchor points on vehicles, frames or fixed structures. For transport, tension the tarp evenly to minimise flapping; for stationary protection allow a small overlap or tuck to prevent water pooling. Clean with mild detergent and water; avoid abrasive tools that could damage the laminate.
For prolonged outdoor exposure, periodically check the eyelets and rope reinforcement for signs of wear and re-tension fastenings after strong winds. Store the tarp dry and folded when not in use to reduce mould risk and extend service life. When securing around sharp edges, use protective padding to prevent abrasion.
