Tarpaulin AWTools AW68065, 1.55 kg lightweight protective cover
The AWTools AW68065 tarpaulin is a lightweight protective cover weighing 1.55 kg, designed for general-purpose outdoor and indoor use. Constructed from HDPE cross-woven fabric laminated on both sides with LDPE, the tarpaulin offers a balance of low weight and mechanical durability. Edges are heat-sealed and fitted with eyelets every 1 metre, plus a sewn-in rope reinforcement to improve resistance to wind and rain. The material is waterproof, UV resistant, mould-resistant and easy to clean, making it suitable for storage, transport and temporary shelter applications.
The laminated HDPE/LDPE construction provides tear resistance and dimensional stability while keeping the cover lightweight and portable. Heat-sealed edges and regularly spaced eyelets with rope reinforcement ensure secure fastening and reduced risk of tearing at anchor points. The tarpaulin’s surface is treated to resist UV degradation and mould, enabling longer outdoor exposure without rapid deterioration. Its low weight and washable surface simplify handling, folding and storage when not in use.
Lay the tarpaulin over the object to be protected and align edges so eyelets are accessible for fastening. Use rope, straps or bungee cords through the eyelets to secure the cover to anchor points; tie firmly but avoid excessive tension that could concentrate stress at a single eyelet. For transport, secure multiple points to prevent flapping. After use, shake off loose debris, rinse or wipe the surface with water and mild detergent if required, then allow to dry before folding and storing to minimise mould or odour development.
For prolonged outdoor use, inspect eyelets and edge reinforcements regularly and retighten or replace fastening cords if wear is detected. Avoid contact with sharp edges or concentrated friction; where necessary, add protective padding between the tarpaulin and abrasive surfaces. Store folded in a dry, ventilated area when not in use to prolong service life.
