Description

AXAGON ADSA-FP2A SLIM is a compact USB-A to SATA adapter designed for 2.5" SATA hard drives and SSDs. The adapter features a permanently attached 20 cm USB-A cable and uses the USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface to enable data transfer rates up to 5 Gbit/s. Its slim, matte black housing allows quick, tool-free drive insertion and helps prevent visible fingerprints.

Advantages

The adapter supports UASP for improved transfer performance, TRIM to reduce gradual SSD performance degradation, S.M.A.R.T. for drive health monitoring and BOOT for starting a system from a drive connected via the adapter. Additional functions include Auto Spindown and Turn Off for power management, Hot Plug for connection while the PC is running, full Plug & Play operation and LED indication for power and data activity. The device is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and draws sufficient power from a single USB port (up to 900 mA).

How to use

Connect the adapter's USB-A plug to a free USB 3.0/3.2 Gen 1 port on your computer, insert a 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD into the adapter, and the drive will be recognised automatically via Plug & Play. If supported by the host and drive, UASP and TRIM will operate to improve transfer performance and maintain SSD health. Use the LED to verify power and activity; to remove the drive safely, eject the device in the operating system before disconnecting the adapter.

Usage recommendations

For best transfer speeds, connect the adapter to a USB 3.0/3.2 Gen 1 port on the host and use UASP-capable drives and operating systems. If you plan to boot from a connected drive, check BIOS/UEFI settings for USB boot priority. To conserve drive lifespan, allow Auto Spindown to operate for mechanical drives and ensure TRIM is enabled for SSDs.
