AXAGON CLR-M2L3 is a passive aluminum heatsink designed for efficient cooling of high-performance M.2 SSDs, especially NVMe drives. It fits universal M.2 cards sized 22 x 80 mm and uses two supplied thermally conductive pads to accommodate both single-sided and double-sided M.2 SSDs. The low-profile ribbed design (3 mm height) improves heat dissipation, can reduce drive temperature by up to 15°C, and helps prevent thermal throttling to extend SSD lifetime. Compact dimensions and simple installation make it suitable for use with M.2 adapters as well as M.2 (NGFF) motherboard slots.

How to use

Clean the SSD surface where the pads will be applied. Remove protective film from the supplied thermally conductive pads and place them on the heatsink or directly on the SSD according to module layout (single- or double-sided). Carefully align the heatsink with the M.2 SSD (22 x 80 mm) and press to ensure good contact. Install the SSD with the attached heatsink into the M.2 slot or AXAGON adapter and secure following the motherboard or adapter instructions. No additional mounting hardware or active cooling is required.

Usage recommendations

For best thermal performance, ensure unobstructed airflow in the case and verify that the heatsink does not interfere with adjacent components. Replace the thermal pads if removed or damaged to maintain optimal heat transfer.
