The AXAGON EE25-XA6 ALINE is a compact aluminium external enclosure for one 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface. It supports SATA III (6 Gb/s) with UASP and TRIM to maintain SSD performance, reads S.M.A.R.T. data for disk health monitoring, and allows disk spin-down and device power-off to reduce wear. The enclosure features a brushed aluminium housing for mechanical protection and improved heat dissipation, a discreet blue LED for connection and data activity, and simple tool-assisted installation with included screws and screwdriver.

Advantages

USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity offers up to 5 Gbit/s theoretical throughput with backward compatibility to USB 2.0. Support for UASP and TRIM improves SSD performance and responsiveness. How to use

Install a 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD (max 9.5 mm height) by sliding the drive into the internal SATA connector and securing the front with the two included screws using the supplied screwdriver. Connect the enclosure to a computer using the included micro USB-B to USB-A cable; the device is bus-powered and supports Plug and Play, so drivers included with modern operating systems will install automatically. Use hot-plug to connect or disconnect while the host is running. The LED indicates a steady connection and blinks during data transfer.

Usage recommendations

For best performance with SSDs, use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and enable UASP/TRIM support in the host OS. To extend drive lifespan, allow the enclosure’s automatic spindown and power-off functions to operate when the disk is idle.
