Ribbed aluminum external AXAGON EE35-GTR RIBBED enclosure with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) interface for 3.5” SATA HDD. The reversible USB-C socket on the enclosure together with the supplied USB-C → USB-A cable and USB-A → USB-C adapter enables a reliable connection to a computer. The enclosure supports SATA III (6 Gb/s) drives with UASP and provides S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and hibernation of the connected disk and the enclosure.

Advantages

The ribbed aluminum body improves passive cooling and protects the drive while the internal frame secures the HDD. USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface delivers up to 5 Gbps throughput and backward compatibility with USB 2.0 ensures broad device support. Included cable and adapter allow connection to both USB-C and USB-A ports, and rubber feet reduce movement on a desk. LED indicators show power and data transfer status.

How to use

Insert a 3.5" SATA HDD into the enclosure and secure it using the provided mounting material and screwdriver. Connect the enclosure to the computer using the supplied USB-C to USB-A cable or with the USB-A to USB-C adapter for USB-C hosts. Plug the external 12 V/2 A power adapter into the enclosure and switch the power on at the rear panel. The LED indicates power (steady) and data activity (blinking). The device supports hot-plugging, so it can be connected or removed while the computer is running; observe safe removal procedures when disconnecting.

Recommendations

For optimal performance use a SATA III (6 Gb/s) HDD and connect the enclosure to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (SuperSpeed) port. Allow some clearance for airflow around the ribbed aluminum body, and use the included rubber pads to keep the enclosure stable.
