Description

The AXAGON PCEM2-ND PCI-Express adapter enables connection of two M.2 NVMe (PCIe) SSDs to a desktop PC and supports software RAID. Its compact, sturdy construction and universal compatibility make it suitable for upgrading systems that lack M.2 slots. The card is powered directly from the PCIe slot and does not require an external power supply.

Advantages

The adapter works in any motherboard and supports simultaneous operation of both M.2 drives even on boards without PCIe bifurcation thanks to an ASMedia controller. PCIe 3.0 x8 compatibility enables high throughput, practical plug-and-play installation requires no driver, and the integrated slot lock and included low-profile bracket improve mounting flexibility. A passive heatsink cools the controller and the design accepts additional heatsinks on M.2 drives up to 22 mm wide.

How to use

Install the adapter into an available PCIe x8 or x16 slot and secure it with the bracket provided. Insert NVMe M.2 SSDs into the M-key slots and fasten them with the included mounting hardware. If space is limited, detach the rear portion of the card (note that 22110 modules cannot be used after detaching). The device is recognized automatically by modern operating systems; configure SW RAID through the OS or third-party software if mirroring or other RAID levels are required.

Recommendations

For best cooling, use M.2 heatsinks up to 22 mm wide (AXAGON CLR-M2L3 / CLR-M2L6 / CLR-M2L10). Verify OS and SSD compatibility when planning to boot from an M.2 drive or when using older systems such as Windows 7.
