Description

AXAGON RSS-M2SD is an internal 2.5" SATA enclosure designed to mount SATA M.2 (NGFF) SSDs and connect them to a motherboard via a standard 22‑pin SATA data and power interface. The enclosure supports M.2 card lengths up to 2280 (22x80 mm), both single‑ and double‑sided modules, and behaves in BIOS/UEFI and operating systems like a standard internal SATA disk, enabling SSD/HDD boot. The aluminium housing provides passive cooling while the device is powered from a standard 15‑pin SATA power connector.

Advantages

The RSS-M2SD offers SATA III (6 Gb/s) connectivity with backward compatibility to SATA II and SATA I, TRIM support for maintaining SSD performance, full Plug and Play operation without additional drivers, and compatibility with common M.2 B+M‑key and B‑key SATA (AHCI) drives. Its compact 2.5" form factor and aluminium body simplify installation and improve heat dissipation.

How to use

Mount the M.2 SATA SSD into the NGFF slot, secure it with the supplied mounting material and screwdriver, then connect the enclosure to the motherboard using the 22‑pin SATA data and power connector and to the power supply via the 15‑pin SATA power cable. After installation the drive appears in BIOS/UEFI and the operating system as a standard internal SATA disk; no drivers are required. For best performance connect to a SATA 6G (SATA III) controller.

Usage recommendations

Use the enclosure in systems with a SATA III controller to reach maximum transfer rates and ensure good airflow around the aluminium body to assist passive cooling. This device is a hardware adapter only — no software installation is necessary.
