Pannier bag Basil Discovery 365D Single Pannier L 20L with MIK Hooks System, black melee

The Basil Discovery 365D Single Pannier L is a 20-litre pannier designed for everyday urban and commuter cycling. It attaches to racks equipped with the MIK Hooks mounting system and offers a compact, weather-resistant carrying solution for daily essentials, small shopping trips or lightweight gear. The black melee finish provides a neutral appearance that pairs with most bicycles and apparel.

Advantages

This single pannier provides a 20 L carrying capacity while remaining compact and easy to mount. The integrated MIK Hooks compatibility ensures a secure and quick attachment to compatible racks without the need for additional adapters. Durable materials and construction support repeated daily use and give resistance to light weather and wear. The neutral black melee design keeps a low visual profile while remaining practical for different commuting and shopping scenarios.

Suitable for

• Daily commuting and city cycling
• Carrying groceries and small shopping items
• Transporting lightweight personal items such as a change of clothes, laptop sleeve, or lunch
• Users who need a single, easy-to-mount pannier for occasional longer rides

When it may not be suitable

This pannier is not intended for heavy-duty touring or long-distance trips that require large volume or reinforced load distribution; its 20 L capacity is optimized for everyday loads rather than extended expeditions. It may also be less suitable for riders whose racks are not compatible with MIK Hooks or who require fully waterproof, sealed luggage for prolonged exposure to heavy rain.

Key specifications

• Capacity: 20 litres
• Mounting system: compatible with MIK Hooks mounting systems
• Colour/finish: black melee
• Intended use: urban/commuter cycling and light shopping
• Construction: durable fabric with reinforced attachment points

How to use

Align the bag’s MIK Hooks with the corresponding rail on a compatible rack and engage the hooks until the pannier clicks into place. Adjust any integrated retention or safety straps to secure the lower part of the pannier to the rack and prevent movement while riding. Load items evenly to keep the bicycle balanced; heavier items should be placed closest to the rack and lower in the bag. Remove the pannier by releasing the MIK mechanism and detaching any safety straps before lifting the bag from the rack.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm that your bicycle rack is compatible with the MIK Hooks mounting system
• Assess whether 20 L capacity meets your typical carrying needs
• Consider whether you need fully waterproof luggage for frequent heavy rain
• Check that the black melee finish fits your bicycle’s style and visibility preferences

Usage recommendations

For stable handling, distribute weight evenly and secure lower retention straps. Regularly inspect the mounting hooks and attachment points for wear and clean any accumulated dirt to maintain reliable locking performance.
