Basil single pannier City Shopper 14–16L with MIK Hook System, moss green

The Basil single pannier City Shopper 14–16L with MIK Hook System in moss green is a rear-mounted bicycle bag designed for everyday urban use. With a capacity of 14–16 litres, water-resistant exterior material and a tool-free MIK attachment system, the pannier integrates with compatible racks to carry groceries, work items or a change of clothes. The shape and carrying volume are intended to fit typical commuter needs while keeping loading and unloading straightforward.

Advantages

The pannier combines a moderate 14–16L capacity with a compact profile that keeps the bicycle balanced while loaded. The MIK Hook System enables quick, tool-free mounting and removal on racks designed for MIK accessories, and the weather-resistant outer fabric helps protect contents from light rain and splashes. The single-pannier layout is useful when riders want to keep one side free or pair this bag with a second pannier later.

Suitable for

• City commuting where daily essentials such as a laptop sleeve, documents or a packed lunch are needed
• Grocery shopping with limited volume requirements
• Short urban errands and trips where a single rear bag is sufficient
• Riders who use MIK-compatible rear racks and want quick attachment/removal

When it may not be suitable

This single pannier may not be suitable for long-distance touring or multi-day trips where larger combined luggage capacity is required. It is not intended as a fully waterproof dry bag for immersion; in heavy prolonged rain additional rain protection or a fully waterproof liner is recommended.

Key specifications

• Capacity: 14–16 litres
• Mounting: MIK Hook System for tool-free attachment to compatible rear racks
• Position: single rear pannier
• Material properties: water-resistant outer fabric and construction
• Colour: moss green

How to use

Slide the MIK hooks over the edge of a MIK-compatible rear rack until the hooks engage and then secure any secondary stabiliser or lower strap if present on the rack. Load items evenly to keep the bicycle balanced; heavier items should be placed low and close to the rack. To remove the pannier, release the stabiliser (if applicable) and lift the bag off the rack by disengaging the MIK hooks. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and allow the bag to dry thoroughly before storage.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm your rear rack is MIK-compatible to use the MIK Hook System
• Assess whether 14–16L capacity meets your daily load requirements
• Verify the single-pannier layout fits your balance and storage preferences

Usage recommendations

For best results use the pannier on a compatible rack, distribute weight evenly, and consider an internal organizer or small pouch for loose items. In heavy rain use an additional waterproof liner or cover to protect sensitive contents.
