Double Pannier Bag Basil Cove Double 28–32L with MIK System, navy/black

The Basil Cove Double 28–32L with MIK System in navy/black is a double pannier bag designed to carry everyday items on a bicycle. It offers an adjustable combined capacity between 28 and 32 litres and a ready-to-go MIK mounting interface that allows quick and secure attachment to compatible luggage racks. The bag is intended to provide stable, detachable storage for commuting, shopping or light touring while maintaining a compact profile that keeps weight close to the bicycle frame.

Advantages

The Basil Cove Double provides a single solution for two-side storage with a simple capacity adjustment to match trip needs. The built-in MIK System reduces installation time and ensures a firm connection to racks that support MIK plates, while the navy/black fabric balances visibility with a low-profile aesthetic. The design emphasizes practical access to belongings and even load distribution across the rear wheel for improved handling compared with single-sided panniers.

Suitable for

• Daily commuting and transporting work items, clothing or lunch
• Grocery shopping and market runs
• Short, light touring or weekend trips with modest luggage
• Riders who prefer quickly detachable luggage using the MIK System

When it may not be suitable

This double pannier is not intended for heavy-duty expedition touring that requires large-volume, weatherproof luggage or frames designed for oversized bags. If you need to carry large, irregularly shaped items or very heavy loads, a larger dedicated touring system or a trailer may be more appropriate. The bag’s capacity is adjustable within a limited range, so it may not replace multiple specialized bags for varied long-distance trips.

Key specifications

• Total capacity: adjustable between 28 and 32 litres
• Configuration: double pannier (left and right pair)
• Mounting system: MIK System ready interface for compatible racks
• Colour: navy/black
• Typical uses: commuting, shopping, light touring

How to use

Attach the MIK-compatible plate on your luggage rack according to the rack manufacturer’s instructions, then slide the pannier’s MIK interface onto the plate until it clicks into place. Adjust the internal arrangement or divide items between the two sides to balance weight over the rear axle. To remove the panniers, release the locking mechanism on the MIK interface and lift the bag off the rack. Use the capacity adjustment feature to expand or compress the bag depending on load size, and secure any external straps or closures before riding.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your bicycle rack is compatible with the MIK System or can accept a MIK adapter plate
• Consider the 28–32 L combined capacity relative to the items you typically carry
• Check whether you require fully waterproof materials or additional rain covers for frequent wet-weather use
• Ensure the bag’s mounting position and size fit your bicycle frame and do not interfere with wheels or brakes

Usage recommendations

Distribute heavier items low and close to the wheel axle and between both sides to maintain stable handling. Regularly check the MIK attachment for a secure lock before each ride and use reflective accessories if you often ride in low-light conditions.
