Pannier bag Basil Rivo L single pannier 25–31L with MIK hooks, waterproof, black

The Basil Rivo L single pannier is a waterproof bicycle bag with an adjustable capacity of 25–31 liters and MIK-compatible hooks for stable attachment to rear bike racks. Designed for everyday use, the pannier combines weather protection with a simple mounting system to carry groceries, commuting items or touring gear while keeping contents organised and accessible.

Advantages

The pannier's roll-top closure and waterproof materials protect contents from rain and splash. Adjustable volume lets you compress small loads or expand to fit bulkier items. The MIK-compatible hooks provide a secure and quick attachment and release from compatible racks. The bag's streamlined shape reduces bulk on the rack while offering internal space for essentials and equipment.

Suitable for

• Daily commuting and carrying a change of clothes or laptop sleeve
• Grocery shopping and transporting light cargo
• Day touring and short bike trips where weather protection is needed
• Urban cyclists who need a quick-release mounting solution

When it may not be suitable

This single pannier is intended for attachment to compatible rear racks and relies on the MIK hook system; it may not fit older or non-MIK-compatible racks without adapters. For riders who require very high-capacity luggage or a fully rigid, lockable trunk solution, a larger luggage system or a dedicated bike box may be more appropriate.

Key specifications

• Capacity: adjustable 25–31 L
• Mounting system: MIK-compatible hook attachment
• Material: waterproof construction with roll-top closure
• Colour: black
• Type: single pannier for rear rack use

How to use

Open the roll-top closure to load items and roll down to the desired compression for water resistance. Engage the MIK hooks onto the corresponding rail on a compatible rear rack and ensure the lower safety latch or stabilizer (if present) is secured to prevent shifting. To remove, release the safety catch and lift the pannier off the rack. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and allow to dry before storage to maintain waterproof properties.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm your rear rack is MIK-compatible or that you have the correct adapter
• Check the required capacity range (25–31 L) meets your typical load
• Assess whether a single pannier is sufficient or if you need a pair for balanced loads
• Consider mounting height and clearance on your bicycle to avoid interference with wheels or brakes

Usage recommendations

For stable carrying, distribute heavier items low inside the pannier and keep fragile items protected. Use reflective accessories or a rear light on the rack to maintain visibility when the pannier covers reflectors. Regularly inspect the hook attachment for wear and reseal the roll-top after loading to preserve waterproofing.
