Bird Toy BEEZTEES 5599 Wooden Hanging Toy with Bell for Parrots and Small Birds

BEEZTEES 5599 Wooden Hanging Toy with Bell for Parrots and Small Birds is a compact cage accessory designed to provide daily enrichment. Constructed from natural wooden components and finished with a small metal bell, this hanging toy encourages chewing and pecking behaviour, supports beak maintenance and helps reduce boredom in parrots and other small companion birds. The simple hanging design fits most cages and can be repositioned as required for variety.

Advantages

The BEEZTEES 5599 toy offers tactile and auditory stimulation through its combination of wooden parts and a ringing bell. Its natural wood composition provides a safe surface for birds to chew, which aids in keeping the beak trimmed and occupied. The hanging format occupies vertical cage space without taking up the floor area, making it suitable for smaller enclosures. Lightweight construction and a basic attachment make installation and replacement straightforward.

Suitable for

• Parrots (small to medium species) seeking chewing and foraging outlets
• Budgerigars, cockatiels and similar small companion birds
• Cage owners who want a simple, low-maintenance enrichment accessory
• Situations where vertical space inside the cage should be utilized

When it may not be suitable

This wooden hanging toy is not intended for large parrots or bird species with very strong beaks that can destroy small wooden parts quickly. It is also not suitable as a solitary source of enrichment for highly active birds; such birds benefit from a variety of toys and foraging opportunities. Replace the toy if you notice excessive wear, splintering or damage to the bell attachment.

Key specifications

• Design: hanging toy suitable for cage attachment
• Primary functions: chewing, pecking stimulation, auditory feedback
• Intended users: parrots and small companion birds

How to use

Hang the BEEZTEES 5599 toy from a secure point inside the cage using the attached hook or loop, ensuring it is positioned where the bird can reach comfortably without obstructing doors. Monitor initial interactions to confirm the bird engages safely with the wooden pieces and bell. Rotate or relocate the toy periodically to maintain novelty and prevent habituation. Inspect regularly for signs of damage and remove the toy if splintering or loose metal parts appear.

What to consider before purchase

• Check that the size and hanging length are appropriate for your bird species and cage dimensions
• Consider whether natural wood is acceptable for your bird, especially if the bird tends to ingest large wood pieces
• Assess whether a single simple toy meets your bird’s activity needs or if additional interactive toys are required

Usage recommendations

Use this toy as part of a varied enrichment plan. Combine with foraging toys, perches of different textures and supervised out-of-cage time. Regularly inspect both wood and metal components and replace the toy when wear or damage compromises safety.
