Microphone Behringer C-1U
The Behringer C-1U USB studio condenser microphone is a large-diaphragm condenser with an integrated USB interface designed for podcasting, home recording and broadcast use. It offers ultra-low noise transformerless FET input circuitry, a cardioid pickup pattern for clear source separation and wide, flat frequency response for natural-sounding vocals and acoustic instruments. The microphone draws power from a standard USB port and includes a USB cable and swivel stand mount to enable quick setup on PC or Mac systems.
The C-1U provides professional condenser performance with plug-and-play USB connectivity, eliminating the need for external preamps or audio interfaces. It delivers high dynamic range handling up to 136 dB and a flat frequency response for accurate capture of voice and instruments. Built with a metal die-cast body and shock-mounted capsule, the microphone is robust and suited to regular studio and field use. Included software and driver compatibility with common operating systems simplify recording and post-production workflows.
Connect the Behringer C-1U to an available USB port on your PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable. The microphone is bus-powered and typically requires no additional drivers; select it as the input device in your operating system or recording application. Position the microphone with its cardioid pickup facing the sound source and use the included swivel mount to adjust angle and height. Use recording software (for example Audacity or the included applications) to set input level and monitor recordings. For best results, allow the shock mount to isolate mechanical vibrations and maintain a consistent distance from the sound source.
Place the microphone 15–30 cm from the mouth for spoken voice, slightly further for loud sources, and use a pop filter to reduce plosives. Ensure the recording environment is as quiet as possible and set input gain to avoid clipping while preserving detail. Use the cardioid pattern by orienting the microphone toward the sound source and away from reflective surfaces to reduce room noise and feedback.
