Microphone Behringer C-1

The Behringer C-1 is a studio condenser microphone engineered for precise and high-quality audio recording in various environments, ranging from home setups to professional studios. Designed to capture clear and accurate sound reproduction, this microphone relies on a sensitive condenser capsule and a cardioid pickup pattern to focus on the sound source directly in front of it while minimizing unwanted background noise. Its robust construction ensures reliable performance, making it a practical choice for recording vocals and acoustic instruments alike.

Advantages

The Behringer C-1 offers exceptional audio clarity thanks to its wide frequency response and low self-noise characteristics. The cardioid polar pattern effectively isolates the primary sound source, reducing room ambiance and bleed from other nearby instruments. Built with a durable die-cast metal body, the microphone stands up well to regular studio use. Additionally, it comes equipped with a desktop stand, providing a convenient out-of-the-box solution for immediate desktop placement and operation.

Suitable for

• Recording lead and backing vocals for music production
• Capturing acoustic guitar, piano, and other acoustic instruments
• Voiceover work, podcasting, and broadcasting
• Home studio recording setups and project studios

When it may not be suitable

This microphone may not be suitable for live stage performances where high gain before feedback is required in very loud environments. It is also not designed for field recording without a dedicated portable power source, as it requires external phantom power to operate.

How to use

To use the Behringer C-1, mount it securely on the included desktop stand or a compatible microphone boom arm using a suitable mount. Connect the microphone to an audio interface, mixer, or preamplifier using a standard XLR cable. Engage the +48V phantom power on your audio interface or mixer, as this condenser microphone requires external power to function. Position the front of the microphone toward the sound source at an appropriate distance to achieve the desired balance of direct sound and room acoustics.

What to consider before purchase

• Ensure your audio interface or mixer provides +48V phantom power, which is mandatory for condenser microphones.
• Check that you have a compatible XLR cable, as cables are typically sold separately.
• Consider your acoustic environment, as sensitive condenser microphones capture fine details and room reflections.

Usage recommendations

Always engage phantom power only after connecting the microphone, and never expose the unit to moisture or extreme temperatures to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
