To install the Bemko PG-48 cable gland, first ensure that the enclosure has a compatible PG-48 threaded hole or a suitable knockout. Insert the gland body through the opening and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside of the enclosure. Once the gland is fixed, pass the cable through the center of the gland. Tighten the outer cap to compress the internal sealing ring around the cable jacket, which secures the cable and creates the protective seal against external elements.
For optimal performance and to maintain the integrity of the seal, ensure the outer cap is tightened sufficiently to grip the cable firmly without damaging the insulation. Regularly inspect the installation to ensure the gland remains secure and the seal is not compromised by environmental factors.
