Product information

Description

The BenQ MW550 is a WXGA DLP data projector designed for small to medium meeting rooms. With up to 3,600 lumens of high brightness and industry-leading contrast, it delivers clear text, vibrant colors and fine detail for lights-on presentations. The projector offers dual HDMI and dual VGA inputs, vertical keystone correction, a 1.1:1 zoom and a throw ratio suitable to project up to a 100-inch image from about 3.33 m. Built-in energy-saving modes, an easy-access top lamp door and a Kensington lock make the MW550 suitable for business and education environments.

Advantages

The MW550 combines high brightness and high contrast to improve readability of charts, graphs and small text even in well-lit rooms. Multiple video inputs let several presenters connect quickly without adapters, while vertical keystone and triple adjustment feet simplify image alignment from different positions. Maintenance is made easier by the top-access lamp door and lamp-saving modes, and security is supported with a Kensington lock. Eco features reduce power consumption in standby and active use.

Suitable for

  • Small to medium meeting rooms and classrooms (up to ~20 participants)
  • Lights-on presentations where clear text and color are required
  • Multi-presenter meetings requiring fast source switching
  • Ceiling- or tabletop-mounted installations with occasional lamp maintenance

Key specifications

  • Model: BenQ MW550 (MPN: 9H.JHT77.13E)
  • Projection technology: DLP
  • Brightness: 3,500–3,600 ANSI lumens (manufacturer states 3,600 in marketing text; product data lists 3,500)
  • Native resolution: WXGA (1280 x 800)
  • Aspect ratio: 16:10
  • Throw ratio: 1.55 – 1.7
  • Zoom: 1.1:1

  • Weight: 2.3 kg
  • Connectivity: dual HDMI, dual VGA, RS-232

How to use

Place the projector on a stable tabletop or install it on the ceiling so the lens aligns with the screen. Connect a laptop or other source using HDMI or VGA; use the dual inputs to accommodate multiple presenters. Power on the projector and, if necessary, select the correct input. Use vertical keystone correction and the triple adjustment feet to square the image. Adjust zoom and focus to fit the desired screen size—up to 100 inches from about 3.33 m. For lamp access, open the top lamp door for maintenance or replacement when required.

Usage recommendations

Use SmartEco™ mode for reduced lamp power while maintaining image quality, enable Eco Blank to save power during short pauses, and rely on Auto Power Off and 0.5W standby to minimize energy consumption when the projector is idle.
