The Black Box KVXLCDP-100 KVM extender (transmitter and receiver) extends KVM signals up to 100 m over CATx cable or provides long-range extension over IP. The system supports DisplayPort video up to UHD 4K at 30 Hz, transparent USB 2.0 for HID and mass storage devices, bi-directional speaker and microphone audio, RS232 serial peripheral support and an additional local DisplayPort video output on each unit. The kit includes transmitter, receiver and required cables; a 1U rackmount kit is available.

How to use

Connect the transmitter to the source PC or server using the DisplayPort video and USB-B/USB-A connections for peripherals. Attach audio and RS232 devices as required. Connect transmitter and receiver with CATx cable for up to 100 m or configure IP mode for longer distances using the Ethernet ports. Connect the receiver to the remote monitor and USB peripherals via its DisplayPort and USB ports, and power both units with the supplied 5 V, 2 A adapters. Use EDID pass-through to maintain correct video timing and resolution.

Usage recommendations

For stable 4K @ 30 Hz video, use high-quality shielded CAT6 or better cable for CATx connections and ensure proper grounding. When deploying over IP, verify network bandwidth and latency to maintain video and USB responsiveness. Use the optional 1U rackmount kit for tidy installation in server racks.
