Broadcast Monitor Blackmagic Design HYPERD/AVIDA12/7HDR 7" 3G-SDI
Blackmagic Design HYPERD/AVIDA12/7HDR is a 7" broadcast monitor with 3G-SDI input that provides professional monitoring and recording options for SDI or HDMI cameras in HD, Ultra HD, 2K and 4K DCI formats. The 2500 nits HDR display supports 3D LUTs and includes built-in scopes, focus assist and exposure tools. Dual internal SD card recorders capture 10‑bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNx files and dual mini XLR inputs with 48V phantom power and a noise floor of -128 dBV provide high-quality audio input. Compact dimensions (193 mm × 37 mm × 130 mm) and compatibility with Mac OS X 10.15/11.0 and Windows 10/8.1 make it suitable for a range of production setups.
The monitor combines a very bright 2500 nit HDR screen, professional monitoring tools such as waveform and vectorscope, and 3D LUT support to ensure accurate image assessment. Integrated dual SD card recorders allow simultaneous backup recordings in industry-standard 10‑bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNx formats, eliminating immediate file conversion. Two mini XLR connectors with 48V phantom power and low noise floor enable clear, high-quality audio capture directly to the recorded files.
Connect the monitor to your camera via SDI or HDMI, configure the input format on the monitor menu and insert SD cards into both record slots. Use the built-in scopes and focus/exposure assist tools to set accurate framing, focus and exposure. Select the desired recording codec (ProRes or DNx) and start recording; files will be written directly to the SD cards for immediate use in editing systems that accept ProRes/DNx files.
Use high-speed SD cards recommended for broadcast recording to ensure reliable 10‑bit 4:2:2 ProRes/DNx capture. When recording audio, enable phantom power only for microphones that require 48V. For outdoor use, prefer shading or sun hoods to maintain visibility of the 2500 nit HDR screen.
