Add coarsely ground coffee to the carafe, pour hot (not boiling) water over the grounds, stir gently and place the plunger assembly on top. Let the coffee steep for the recommended time, then press the plunger down slowly to separate grounds from brewed coffee. Serve immediately to preserve aroma.
