BonFeu BONBIZA XL Open is a large outdoor fire pit made of steel with a rust finish. The open bowl design provides a generous combustion area for wood and charcoal, producing ambient heat and visible flames that act as a focal point on patios, terraces and in gardens. The steel construction and simple shape suit contemporary and rustic outdoor settings and allow use with cooking grates or as a decorative fire feature.
Advantages
The BonFeu BONBIZA XL Open offers a spacious burning surface and robust steel construction with a weathered rust appearance that does not require painting to achieve its visual effect. Its open design promotes good airflow for efficient burning, and the large size supports longer burn times and larger logs. The unit functions both as a heat source and as an aesthetic element for outdoor living spaces.
Suitable for
- Backyard and garden gatherings where an open fire adds warmth and atmosphere
- Patio, terrace or communal outdoor areas seeking a durable focal fire feature
- Outdoor cooking with compatible grates for grilling over wood or charcoal
- Seasonal use during spring, summer evenings and mild autumn weather
When it may not be suitable
This open steel fire pit is intended for outdoor use only and is not suitable for enclosed spaces or locations with strict smoke, ember or fire restrictions. Because of its open design and size, it may not be suitable where space is limited or where proximity to flammable structures, low-hanging foliage or combustible decking materials cannot be avoided.
Key specifications
- Material: steel with rust finish
- Design: open bowl fire pit
- Primary fuel: wood and charcoal
- Intended use: outdoor heating and decorative fire feature; compatible with cooking grates
- Finish appearance: weathered/rust look suitable for rustic and industrial aesthetics
How to use

Allow ash to cool fully before disposal and clean out residues regularly to maintain airflow.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify available outdoor space and safe clearance distances to buildings and vegetation
- Check local regulations and any community rules regarding open fires and burning
- Consider how the rust finish will age and whether the aesthetic fits your outdoor décor
- Plan for storage or cover to protect the unit from excessive moisture when not in use
Usage recommendations
Use seasoned, dry hardwood for cleaner combustion and longer burn times; avoid burning treated wood, plastics or damp materials. Keep a suitable fire extinguisher or water source nearby, supervise the fire at all times and ensure embers are fully extinguished before leaving the area.
