Optical microscope Bresser Optics ERUDIT ICD 40x
The Bresser Optics ERUDIT ICD 40x optical microscope is a compact stereo dissecting instrument designed for low-magnification observation with a three-dimensional view. It provides a standard magnification of 20x and a maximum magnification of 40x, combined with LED illumination powered by batteries for portable use. The microscope’s durable aluminum housing and compact dimensions (115 mm width, 220 mm depth, 290 mm height) support easy transport and storage, while a maximum object height of 53 mm allows observation of larger samples without extensive preparation.
The stereo optical design offers a natural three-dimensional view, which is useful for examining structured materials such as plant parts, insects, or geological samples. LED illumination ensures consistent, energy-efficient lighting, and battery power enables use in the field or locations without mains supply. The unit’s aluminum housing provides mechanical stability and durability, while the included black/white object plate improves contrast when using incident light. Its relatively low weight supports portability.
Place the microscope on a stable surface or use the carry case for transport. Install the required batteries and switch on the LED illumination. Position the sample on the object plate; for incident light viewing use the included black/white plate to improve contrast. Adjust the focus and magnification according to the detail level required, keeping the sample within the maximum object height of 53 mm. For fragile or live specimens, handle gently and avoid direct contact with the optics. After use, switch off the LED and store the instrument in its case.
For best results use fresh batteries to maintain stable LED brightness during field work. When observing small or moving subjects, secure them on the object plate or use suitable holders to minimize movement. Clean lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth and use minimal force when adjusting mechanical parts to prolong the service life of the aluminum housing and optical components.
