External 2.5" SATA to USB 3.2 Gen 1 Drive Enclosure, Cabletech LEC-KOM0971
Cabletech LEC-KOM0971 is an external 2.5" SATA to USB 3.2 Gen 1 drive enclosure designed to convert internal laptop HDDs and SSDs into a portable external drive. The enclosure supports standard 2.5" SATA drives and connects to a host computer via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, offering plug-and-play access for data transfer, backup, cloning or temporary storage. Its compact, lightweight design makes it suitable for use with desktops, laptops and other USB-equipped devices, and the interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.
The enclosure provides high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 data transfer rates for compatible drives while maintaining backward compatibility with older USB ports. It enables quick conversion of internal drives into external storage without tools or drivers in most operating systems, simplifying data recovery and migration tasks. The compact housing protects the drive during transport and reduces the footprint compared with full-size external enclosures.
Insert a compatible 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD into the enclosure following the mechanical alignment of the SATA connector and secure the drive according to the enclosure's assembly method. Connect the enclosure to a computer using the supplied USB cable. The drive should be recognized automatically by modern operating systems without the need to install additional drivers. After use, safely eject the drive through the host operating system prior to disconnecting the USB cable to avoid data loss.
For stable performance, use USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports where available and ensure the drive is securely seated in the SATA connector. For prolonged heavy workloads, monitor drive temperature and allow airflow around the enclosure. Before inserting a drive containing an operating system, verify that data is backed up if the drive will be reused or repurposed.
