Heat-Shrink Tubing Cabletech 3.5 mm × 1 m, red
Heat-shrink tubing Cabletech 3.5 mm × 1 m in red is a flexible polyolefin sleeve designed to contract uniformly when heat is applied, providing insulation and mechanical protection for wire joints, terminals and repaired cable sections. The 3.5 mm nominal diameter and 1 m length make this tubing suitable for individual conductor coverage, color-coding and reinforcement of small harnesses in electronics, automotive and household wiring tasks.
The Cabletech heat-shrink tubing offers reliable electrical insulation and abrasion resistance after shrinking, improving the durability of connections. Its red color allows quick visual identification and color-coding of circuits. The polyolefin material provides a consistent shrink ratio and good chemical resistance, while the 1 m length allows multiple cuts to size for several repair or assembly operations.
Cut a section of tubing to the required length and slide it over the cable or joint before making the electrical connection. After soldering or crimping is completed, position the tubing centrally over the joint. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, hot-air tool or controlled flame, moving the heat source back and forth to avoid overheating. Heat until the tubing has shrunk snugly around the conductor and shows smooth, even conformity to the underlying shape. Allow the tubing to cool and set before handling.
Use a regulated heat gun for controlled shrinking to reduce the risk of damaging conductors or surrounding insulation. Ensure the tubing is compatible with the operating temperature range and voltage requirements of your application; for color-coding use the red tubing in line with your wiring scheme. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent premature aging.
