Heat Shrink Tube Cabletech 5 mm × 1 m, red, model LEC-NAR0258.1
Cabletech heat shrink tube, 5 mm inner diameter and 1 m length in red, is designed to insulate and protect electrical connections. The flexible polyolefin tubing provides mechanical protection, strain relief and basic environmental sealing for soldered joints, wire splices, terminals and cable harnesses. Its red colour allows clear identification of circuits and polarity in repair, installation and DIY projects.
This heat shrink tube offers consistent diameter reduction and good adhesion to bundled wires once shrunk, creating a secure covering for joints and exposed conductors. It is flexible before and after shrinking, resistant to common handling stresses and suitable for use in tight spaces. The bright red colour improves visual identification and organization of cables during assembly or maintenance.
Cut the required length of heat shrink tube and slide it over the cable or joint before making the connection. After completing the splice or soldering, position the tube centrally over the area to be insulated. Apply uniform heat using a heat gun, hot air tool or controlled flame while rotating the assembly to achieve even shrinking; stop once the tube conforms tightly to the underlying wires. Allow the tubing to cool before handling.
Select a tube diameter that leaves enough room for the unshrunk cable and components; a 5 mm inner diameter is suitable for many small-to-medium wire bundles. Use a regulated heat source to avoid overheating nearby components and maintain a safe working distance from sensitive parts. For applications requiring watertight seals or higher chemical resistance, consider adhesive-lined or specialty tubing designed for those conditions.
