Multiswitch Cabletech 5x6 — Cabletech LEC-ZLA0991, 5 inputs x 6 outputs
Cabletech 5x6 multiswitch (model with five inputs and six outputs) is a compact distribution device for satellite and terrestrial signals. It accepts multiple input sources and routes them to up to six independent receivers, enabling simultaneous tuning on each connected tuner. The unit is intended for small multiroom installations and apartment environments where separate receivers need their own signal paths.
The multiswitch supports combining satellite polarisation/band or satellite plus terrestrial inputs into a single distribution point, simplifying cabling and centralising signal management. Its six independent outputs allow different channels or services to be watched concurrently on separate receivers. The compact form factor makes it easy to install in a distribution cabinet or near the antenna feed, and the design reduces the need for extra splitters or multiple cables from the dish.
This multiswitch is optimized for smaller installations and supports up to six outputs; larger homes or commercial setups requiring many more outputs will need a higher-capacity multiswitch or cascadeable system. It does not replace a full distribution system with active amplification or long-line equalisation if cable runs are very long or signal levels are weak.
Install the multiswitch near the incoming antenna or distribution point. Connect the satellite dish LNB outputs and terrestrial antenna feeds to the corresponding inputs. Run coaxial cables from each of the six outputs to the individual receivers or tuners. Ensure connectors are tightened and use quality coaxial cable to minimise losses. After physical connections, configure each receiver as needed to scan channels or services available on the connected inputs.
For reliable performance, use good-quality 75 Ω coaxial cable and weatherproof F-type connectors. Place the multiswitch in a dry, ventilated indoor location and keep cable lengths balanced where possible. If receivers are located far from the distribution point or signal attenuation is significant, consider adding a suitable amplifier or consulting a professional installer.
