Heat Shrink Tubing Cabletech 4.5 mm × 1 m, red
Heat shrink tubing Cabletech 4.5 mm × 1 m in red is a heat-shrinkable sleeve designed to insulate, protect and mechanically reinforce wire joints, terminals and connectors. With a nominal diameter of 4.5 mm and a 1 meter length, this tubing is suitable for general electrical and electronic repair, hobby projects and automotive wiring where a compact, color-coded insulating sleeve is needed. The material contracts uniformly when heated to form a tight, moisture-resistant covering over splices and exposed conductors.
The Cabletech heat shrink tubing offers reliable electrical insulation and improved strain relief for cables and solder joints. Its red color enables quick identification of circuits or polarities. The tubing is easy to cut to length and conforms closely to irregular shapes when heated, providing mechanical protection and reduced risk of short circuits. It is lightweight and flexible before and after shrinking, making it suitable for confined spaces and multi-branch harnesses.
Cut a suitable length of tubing to cover the splice, terminal or connector allowing extra margin for overlap. Slide the tubing over the wire or component before making the connection if possible; if not, position it over the joint afterward. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, hot air tool or suitable heat source until the tubing shrinks snugly around the substrate and conforms to the shape. Allow to cool so the sleeve sets and forms a secure insulating barrier.
For best results, use a regulated heat gun at a moderate distance to avoid overheating nearby components. Ensure surfaces are clean and free of oil or corrosion before applying tubing. Choose tubing diameter that provides sufficient overlap after shrinking; test on a scrap piece if necessary to verify fit and shrink behaviour.
