CANSON Montval art paper block contains 12 sheets of 300 g/m² fine-surfaced paper in natural/white. Designed for watercolor, gouache and mixed media, the sheets are short-side glued for easy lifting. The compact 16 x 28.4 cm format is suitable for studies, plein air work and small illustrations where a heavyweight, textured paper is required. The Montval range was originally created by painter Gaspard Maillol and produced by Canson; this version combines traditional texture with good erasability and portability.

Advantages

Montval paper offers a textured surface suited to water-based media and mixed techniques while maintaining a high grammage of 300 g/m² for reduced cockling. Its surface allows easy corrections: water, a sponge or a brush remove watercolor traces so the sheet can be reworked. The short-side glue binding keeps sheets secure yet allows individual sheets to be lifted cleanly. The compact block format makes it convenient for travel and outdoor sketching.
